Super Bowl, it's a brand name, not an adjective

...those words from Keith Olbermann, when he was one of the top dogs on SportsCenter, rang true in the 90s.

These days, we're all nuts about the Super Bowl all week long. I surprised, and pleased, that ESPN didn't go too far overboard on SportsCenter with its media day wrap-ups. I think they've let NFL Network control that hype machine. I was disappointed with how ESPN went over-the-top with its coverage when Bobby Knight got the attention of one of his players by bumping him on the chin... then found every possible way of dissecting previous similar incidents. This is the first time SC disappointed me. Come on, let Coach Knight be Coach Knight. Every time he does something that could result in a penalty, the media's gonna jump on him one way or another. Will recycling every one of Knight's chair throws and recapping all his penalties bring SC more ratings? Not from this viewer. Show more bowling.

Back to the Super Bowl. Thankfully, the games have been close the last few years. This one will be, as well.

Peyton will have two TD passes. Grossman will get picked off twice, but they won't be his fault. Vinatieri will ice the game with a late field goal. Devin Hester will be held in check.

Colts 27, Bears 23
